Bizar

The Bar Bizar Logo Design project was an exciting opportunity to work with a real client as part of a rebranding effort for a bar and restaurant. I was approached by Bar Bizar’s management to reimagine their logo and branding in a way that better aligned with their vision, mission, and the unique customer experience they offered. The new brand identity was intended to capture the ambiance of Bar Bizar while highlighting one of the owners who frequently interacted with customers, adding a personal touch to the brand.

Overview

While the project did not reach full implementation due to a shift in the management's plans and budget constraints, it offered valuable real-world experience in client communication, understanding design briefs, and responding to feedback. Additionally, this project helped me begin to build a professional network and learn practical approaches to managing client expectations.

Though not fully realized, the Bar Bizar project was a meaningful step in building practical skills and developing client relationship management.

Key Components

  • Client Collaboration: I worked closely with Bar Bizar’s management to discuss the brand’s values and vision, translating these into initial design concepts that reflected the bar's personality.
  • Design Iterations & Feedback: Throughout the project, I made several design revisions based on client feedback, learning to incorporate their insights while balancing my creative direction with their needs.
  • Real-World Experience: This project gave me insight into managing a client-based project, from working within budget constraints to adapting as project goals evolved.

CHALLENGE

As this was my first experience with a client-based logo and branding project, I faced the challenge of navigating the design process without prior hands-on experience in this area. Lacking a personal framework to guide the project, I relied heavily on the client’s feedback and industry best practices I’d observed in other portfolio examples. Balancing the client’s evolving ideas with professional standards required adaptability and a keen sense of when to lean on established branding techniques.

Solution

To overcome this, I committed to staying highly responsive and open in my communication with the client. I carefully analyzed their feedback, breaking down their preferences to gain deeper insights into their brand’s needs. I also took extra time to study similar logo rebranding projects to find effective approaches and build a foundation of best practices. By combining the client’s feedback with these strategies, I was able to develop a series of design iterations that progressively aligned more closely with their vision, while ensuring a polished and cohesive brand identity.
